hey guys

i'm stumped

have an external HD (FW800), and I have an encrypted disk image on it which takes up the entire space (I mount the image to store/access date).

ever since this morning, the HD has been reading/writing continuously, no matter what I do. I'm not doing anything to it, but I can heard the HD working away.

It's not spotlight (disabled on that volume). Running latest version of OS X, and the drive is a WD external

Any help appreciated!!!

Look in Console>All Messages (in /Applications/Utilities) and see if there is anything that will help you identify what's causing it.

If you are running Time Machine, it could be backing it up. You may have to put it on the list of disks/files not to back up.
