Uh... This will likely be locked. You either pirated it, or would be violating your NDA if you had it legitimately.

MacNN doesn't usually lock threads about prerelease software. We just don't offer support for either using or obtaining pirated software.

Here's what I want to know. Mount a network share, pull the ethernet cable and see if you get the beach ball. I'm always forgetting to unmount drives on my MBP and I can't do a thing for about 2 minutes when I open it back up at work.

If you're asking what I think you're asking, normal event processing while menus are open was intentionally disabled in 10.3.

If you delete a track in iTunes and ask it to move it to the trash, does the trash update in the dock to indicate there's something in it? Six years waiting on this one .

That's interesting. I don't recall Jaguar's Finder menu-tasking either.
Menu-tasking - when graphical updates in windows of a given application continue even when a menu from said application is being displayed. Start a large copy operation in the Finder and then click on a Finder menu - you'll see that while the menu is open the copy dialog box is prevented from updating.

You're probably right. I just remember a release note to that effect in Panther, because I thought it seemed like kind of an odd decision.

I believe the desicion was made to make menus never seem sluggish. Kind of like the last thing that should stop moving before a complete system freeze is your cursor.
Now with much faster computers it seems a bit anachronistic though, but I can understand the rationale behind it.

Yes, please post a screenshot of the place where you configure the toolbar transparency, until I see it I don't believe it.

i do not see an area for dvd's, but that may be because there is no dvd in the drive.
also i do not know if front row works on other machines. i have a macbook pro and it works on there. it also appears to read divx movies.

i do have it installed, and without a dvd in the drive there is no option for dvd on the main menu or the sub movie menu.
it may differ if you put a dvd in though.

Does Spotlight still have its own window, or is it now a Finder window?
Did they fix the analog clock in the menu-bar?
Can you put two windows from the same app in different Spaces?

As a developer, I can tell you that you are violating your NDA, if you even have one. You are not allowed to discuss the build in any way, shape, or form with people who do not have an NDA. You are allowed to discuss information Apple has publicly released. Given that your answering questions about things Apple has not talked about (hence the topic of this thread), you are in violation of your NDA.
I hope you're not a real developer, because that would give Apple more ways and means to pursue action against you, in addition to yanking your developer account you paid for.

If he doesn't have an NDA, he's not very well violating one, is he? Now reach back and remove the stick.

No, but then he's discussing pirated software, which falls under another category on this board...

Yep. The category of "things that are allowed." The only things the rules forbid are asking for help pirating something or offering to help others pirate things. People here have discussed prerelease operating systems since before OS X even came out.

hmm... maybe you are right or wrong, but before jumping down my throat you may want to ask me instead of assuming one or the other.
in any event I will not answer anymore questions as I do not want to get modded.

if i am a developer or not I am confused by this attack on me by the mod.
but this software has been talked about by everyone and I am not discussing anything that has not been announced or talked about by anyone else on this board or any other.
as this is the second time that I have come under attack by a mod on this board (unjustly I might add) so as I enjoy this board I will not make anymore comments, though there is the official leopard thread that everyone is talking about leopard and disclosing quite a bit more than I have.
I do apologize as I did not know this board and the moderators were directly employed by Apple and are "legally" empowered to enforce the NDA...
if so I would like to see the copy you speak of.
I am being somewhat smart, but I will state for the record, before calling me names or trying to put me in a category, and or threatening me you may want to ask me who I am or talk to me. In any event I am sorry if I broke any of the board rules and will now "go away" on my own accord.

The forum has a rule on discussing pirated software in general. For other pieces of software, it's usually left alone because you don't know whether the poster actually has pirated the software or not. But for Leopard it's pretty clear. Either you're a developer, in which case you are under NDA, or you pirated it.
Either way I'm not a mod, but as far as I remember this sort of discussion has been frowned upon in the past. Talking about a leak by another party is generally permitted, but first hand discussion of pirated Leopard builds...
