When leopard comes out in October will there be a release of a new laptop as well? I am thinking about buying a new laptop but it always seems as though as soon as I buy one a new one comes out and since I want leopard I thought then would be a good time to get one if a new laptop comes out as well...

Anyone know? Sorry if this is a repeat question, couldn't find anything on it.

Who knows? Apple. Anything from anyone else is pure speculation or informed guesswork. Practically all the Mac lines could do with a refresh - iMacs and minis haven't been updated in almost a year(!). However, MBs and MBPs have had minor updates more recently.

FWIW, Apple are having a Mac specific announcement event on Tuesday, 7th Aug next week. It's doubtful it will be anything to do with MBs and MBPs, but it isn't beyond the realm of possibility. Likelier candidates are the iMac and mini though due to the time elapsed since the last updates.

The updates to the MacBooks were minor.

The updates to the MacBook Pros, however were MAJOR:

1. Switch to a different chipset. 2. LED backlit screens instead of fluorescent.

Not exactly "minor."

unlikely since apple just updated both the MacBooks and Macbook Pros. They're not about to release another revision so quickly.

If anything the announcement may involve the mini or imac.

The MacBook is a completely new design, and while the MBP's haven't changed much since the days of the first AlBook, the design has aged beautifully. I don't think there needs to be a major notebook redesign anytime soon--Apple's notebook sales do nothing but support this side of the argument. If anything, MBs will get a spec upgrade.

Maybe. I was thinking it might be time to go LED across the line, but that is pure speculation.
