I just installed Leopard and I was wondering if anyone knows how I can change that really awful space background image when you're on the login screen?

Google is your friend.

In most cases, you can find your answer by just typing your intended thread title in Google search.

Try "change login background Leopard".

Incidentally, it's also located in System/Library/CoreServices/DefaultDesktop.jpg

That's one of the many bonuses you get when you make your app with REALbasic.

I found this one as well...
Visage Login: Customize Mac OS X

It has a 3 day trial, so it works fine for changing the background and other stuff a couple times.

umm...yeah... i did google it. that's how i found that app.
btw, it changes more than just the desktop pic.
and considering i only need to do it once and never again, it was perfect since it works free for 3 days and makes a permanent change.
so i guess ITF need a third party app to do this.
but thanks for your suggestion.

So you need a third party app to copy a picture from one folder to another ?

*sigh*

no, i needed a third party app to change the apple logo, title text, welcome message, and background.

i could have changed the background by copying a file into that folder. but i found something that did more than that and i didn't have to modify any system files myself.
so try it out and maybe you'll like it, rather than being frustrated by users who are less experienced than yourself.
