Hey I'm thinking I'll probably end up buying from futureshop or best buy for the simple reason that they're by my house. Anyway futureshop has these ones on sale http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/sub...18&WLBS=fsweb2
it's going to be a birthday gift for my sister who just got a Centrino laptop, and it will also be used with my 12 inch Power book I'll be getting on monday or tuseday as a replacement for my failed iBook.
I'm just wondering what the best deal would be, what things should be avoided that sorta thing.

I use the 802.11b wireless router from netgear and it works great (although i do prefer airport). i don't transfer a lot of files between computer so I don't need a faster router. for internet it works fine. I got it at amazon.com for $30 after rebate.

The $129.99CDN D-link looks like the best bet to me of the Future Shop selections. I don't know if the Amazon price suggestion given by Sworthy would work for purchases in Canada.

You should really get a wireless router that supports WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access).
It's a lot more secure than WEP and both the PowerBook and the Centrino laptop support it.
I couldn't find a wireless router that Futureshop sells that has WPA, but it's really worth it to find a shop that does.
I recently bought a Linksys WRT54G and it rocks. It's about $90, but it's well worth it.
Works great with my 12" PB and my XP gaming rig.

There are more than a few wireless routers that "work", but the best is probably Apple's own. But it DOES cost more.
