I'm trying to enable "Windows Sharing" in the Sharing preference pane (to my home networked PC). When I click the Enable Accounts button, it asks for a password, but I can't figure out whether it expects the Windows password, or the Mac's password. I've tried both but it will accept neither one. Which is a bit strange because I can still connect by using Connect to Server in the Finder (but not from the Finder "Network" sidebar). Does anyone have a suggestion to get it to accept a password?

I've had this problem too! I never got it to work and simply found another method (as you said you can connect to a PC from a Mac without windows sharing enabled but not the other way around). Strange.

It wants the windows password. If your windows machines doesn't HAVE a password enter the username without one.

I've tried my Windows password and it doesn't work. Oddly, my Powerbook on the same network has no problem....
