I have a mixed-wired-and-wireless network at the office, running Windows XP and Norton Ghost for backup (don't hate me). My problem currently is that the two wireless clients have reliability problems when it comes to Norton Ghost, and backups from there frequently fail.
Accordingly, I'm wondering, could I create a separate small network (by adding a NIC card to each in addition to the exisitng wireless cards) between the two wireless machines expressly for the purpose of backup? That way, we would have:
IP/Subnet
192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0 Client #1
192.168.1.3/255.255.255.0 Client #2
192.168.1.4/255.255.255.0 Client #3 192.168.2.5 255.255.0.0
192.168.1.5/255.255.255.0 Client #4 192.168.2.5 255.255.0.0
Could this work, assuming I attached the storage device to either client #3 or #4 for backup to either #3 or #4?
