As Kodak recently licensed Quicktime technology from Apple for a "device", anybody want to field some suggestions...one way or another it's good news, on top of the licensing agreement between Apple and RealNetworks also. WiMP will probably end up a poor third in this race.

QuickTime compression for still images (as well as moving video) is considered excellent, so maybe they'll be using an industry standard (besides JPEG) for a forthcoming cameras/video capture device.

Yeah, but the most common compression codec for Quicktime is Sorenson, that is used under licence anyway! I have heard a rumour though that yes, there is some kind of a video device that may hardware compress QT Movies. Cool!
