When launching classic, I get this error message:

<img src="http://homepage.mac.com/mercator/.Pictures/Message.gif" alt=" - " />

I have sifted through my extension and startup items, and have been unable to make it go away. Any suggestions?

Are you trying to access it through a domain name, such as <a href="http://www.apple.com," target="_blank">www.apple.com,</a> or an IP address, such as 17.254.0.91?

I'm not actively trying to connect to anything. It must be happening automatically, but I can't figure out what it could be. I looked under the chooser but none of the "Checked items will be opened at system startup time" items are checked.

There may be an alias of a Appleshare volume in this folder. If there is an alias in this folder, your system will try to access it. Delete any alias in this folder and the problem should disappear.
