Now that my PowerBook is leading a rather sedatary lifestyle, I've been keeping it on 24/7. I've never done that before, it was always going through ON->Sleep->ON->OFF->etc. cycle. I wonder whether the fans and the components can take the abuse of being on most of the time.

I close the lid and put mine to sleep whenever I am not using it, but I rarely turn it off.

I rarely shut my Ghz TiBook down.

Before the last flurry of Apple Software Updates, my MySQL server said it had been running for 27 days!

I usually put it to sleep when not in use. When I'm at home, it sits next to my desktop machine, which is generally always on when I'm awake and home, so having the PB on seems like a waste. I only use the PB when working with files that reside on it (which is most of my work stuff), otherwise I take advantage of the roomier desktop.

My Powerbook runs 24/7. The only thing that I put to sleep is my display after an hour of no computer use.
