1. Javac/Java
2. Safari
3. iChat
4. jedit
5. iTunes
6. GarageBand
7. Audacity
8. Calculator

As you can see, I try to avoid 3rd party apps when possible. My computer usage doesn't include much: the occasional java program, web surfing, email, chatting... etc. Sometimes I like to pretend to rely on Photoshop or Blender like I'm some sort of professional or something. Unfortunately I'm tending to persuade myself that I need Logic Pro and a Dual G5 because GarageBand and my iBook G4 aren't doing it for me anymore.

Audacity is something I actually need since I do 16 bit, 11khz recordings once a week and actually get paid for it. Sooner or later I guess I will need more powerful software as our church is wanting to cut together a CD. Maybe this would be a good excuse for a DP PowerMac "special offering".

2. Safari
3. Adobe CS suite (Illustrator is still a whiny little bid-atch, but gets the job done)
4. Suitcase
5. Quake 3 arena (good stress relief in the office)

Entourage. The center of my business universe.
LiteSwitch. The application switcher that bests Apple's in terms of elegance.
QuicKeys. Command-tilde deletes files with the left hand. No moving to the mouse.
And my first app I always install: in inaptly named Spell Catcher, which I don't use for spelling, but for shortcuts. Entire websites get typed out with just the first two letters followed by two Xs. Entire boiler plate responses, same thing. I haven't typed out my full address in years. It's the most underrated software out there for anyone interested in speed.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

I don't mind having this topic again every now and then. The stickied thread the applications forum is a couple of years old.

I am. I moved the spotlight keyboard shortcut within two days of installing Tiger. Launchbar is just part of the machine at this point. I'd be lost without it.

Let's see...

LaunchBar (I use it more than Spotlight)
Script Debugger (4.0 is coming later this year to a scripter near you!)
iTunes
Comictastic (I wish this was still being developed...)
Clutter
