So I'll be bringing in the new year right here on MacNN. I'm about to step out and grab some fast food, and I'll dig through my small DVD library for something to watch, but otherwise it's just me and you people.

Happy New Year!!

Same here but I have a good execuse

I have twin girls that are under a year old. Me and the wife don't get out any more. No regrets either, spending time with the little ones is so much fun

Nope, lurking is OK. Timing your posts so that you chime in at 12:00 exactly is lame.

I'm gonna be asleep when the clock strikes 12:00. When the clock strikes 1:00, the first spirit will visit me. When the clock strikes 2:00, the ghost of christmas present will visit. When the clock strikes 3:00, the ghost of christmas yet to come will haunt me in my sleep.

Yes, I find everyone is much more understanding when I tell them I'm an alcoholic.

"Are you drinking because it's New Year's Eve?"

"No, I'm drinking because I'm an alcoholic."

I like it.

The wife and I went to a neighborhood party at her boss's house. We brought homemade empenadas, which went quite well with the drinks. It was brisk out, but we all sat around their backyard firepit, enjoyed the warmth, and chatted under the stars until around 2:00 AM. I was pretty tired the next day, so I kicked back and watched movies and read the entire day.

I caught a cold, had a flu, and woke up from my coma at 12:23 on New Year's Day.
I missed the whole thing.
