Ok this is really stupid.

I wanna buy this from Amazon, but they wouldn't ship this item anywhere outside the US:

Amazon.com: Escort Direct Wire Power Cord for Radar and Laser Detectors: Electronics

Can I buy and send it to one of you and then have it forwarded it to me? In return, i can get you something in Hong Kong.

Consider it's only $10, it'd be insane to use a forwarding company since it will cost me something like $50

I don't know, but i gotta ask.

Well, it looks like flat rate international envelopes are running right at $13.45 (International Price Calculator), so that's the least expensive way to get it to you.

If you want to pay for the shipping + fees via PayPal ($14), I'll do it for you. Shoot me a PM.

$17 plus $33 shipping (cheapest rate) to hong kong...

ESCORT DIRECT WIRE POWER CORD : Buy Escort Direct Wire Power Cord for Radar and Laser Detectors - from IPmart.com

might get it quicker this way. i realize it is costing you more then having someone in the US do it for you. but you won't have two shipping times (amazon to US person and US person to you)

Scary not being able to buy some adapter in Hong Kong. Isn't that like not being able to get lead in China?

Great marketing tactics, that: start up a market, and then use ‘sham’ as the first word in its name.

Uh, try modifying your normal cable dude. Hack off the cig lighter, expose the wire, and wire it in. It is NOT hard.

I looked at that "direct wire" cable, and concluded that the biggest difference between that and the lighter plug cable comes before the fuse. Is the fuse in the lighter plug cable obvious and in-line like the one in the direct wire cable? If so, you're only going to have to wander down to some shop that sells similar fuse holders, wire and connection lugs, show the shop guy a picture of the direct wire gizmo and your current cable, and let the shop guy sell you $5 worth of kit that you can put together about as easily as using the formal direct wire kit.

As Rob says, it is NOT hard.

i am sure it's not hard. but i am clueless about wiring so it is hard for me.

the detector uses a 6p6c phone jack for both electricity and control... and i don't know which pin is for power. anyway, i don't know what i am talking about so i better pay up. lol.

Isn't that something you can just pick up on Apliu Street? You can get almost everything electronics-related on Apliu Street.

It's the world's biggest Radio Shack.

And yes, I have the same problem. Amazon wouldn't ship the Scosche Tapline to Hong Kong either.

Hmm... just looked at the thing and every component (just a simple power wire, a fuse, and some readily available connectors) can indeed be bought on Apliu Street for probably about US$3 total, but you'll have to put it together yourself.
