Well aren't I smart: I preordered my deluxe Wii U online at Toys r Us on 9/15/12! Since the Wii U came out on a Sunday, I would have expected to receive my *preorder* on Monday. Right? Right?!
I'm finding out the hard way that "preorder" to Toys R Us means: when we get them (on launch day!), we'll ship them out as slow as possible, i.e. ground, from as far away from where you live as possible.
Since I'm in California and my Wii U, according to UPS, is shipping from Ohio (!), I'll have completely recovered from my Thanksgiving dinner before I get it!
The kicker is that ZombieU and NSMBU, which I ordered from Amazon, I got yesterday! So I have 2 shiny new disks that I can stare longingly at all weekend.
I know TRU was having issues with in-store preorder delays, but why online orders? Anybody else get an online preordered Wii U on Monday from some other vendor?
End rant.

I'm curious if the new controller are any good...seem to complicate gaming but I'm open. I kind of preferred the Sega Dreamcast screen in their controllers over the WiiU's gigantor screens which seem distracting.

So far, I'm loving it. Managing the system and using apps through the touchscreen is so intuitive, even better in some ways than the Wii remote.
I've played NSMBU, Nintendo Land, and ZombiU and they've all worked really well with the Gamepad.
It was worth the wait.
