NewsFactor Network. MacNN sold the news and forums to them. NFN was going to rebrand everything to their livery, and the forums were on fire. Their ambassador to the forums didn't impress people, which riled things up more.

After a few days, our owner bought us back and the crisis ended.

Monish is sort of like G*d that way.

We’re his chosen people, but the Pharoh pays good money.

Amazingly, NFN is even deader than ‘NN. How ironic.

Remember when people used to put “Network” in the name?

Remember when “Network” referred to a medium that wasn’t dying?

Yep. And putting "i" in the name, for internet, was another way of being cool. Many people own an eye-mac. It includes a user-facing camera, so the name is truthful.

got one sitting beside my desk, so I'm covered

I never bothered with a picture sig. Which is a shame, because now I can't go back to it.

Oh well, it was good while it lasted!

I have to say that it is a bit much to have some Johnny-come-lately nouvelle arriviste come along and criticise his elders.

Technically, your sig is still in violation, at least when viewing on an iPhone.

But these days, nobody really gives a f$&@.

I think that the line can be any length as long as it doesn't include <L/F><C/R>.

... but I would.

... and my Mac SE was mobile, back in the day. (If you count luggable in a sack)

Playing around with some new options, which one do you like better? If we want a series I'm willing to more if you find the image you want.

Unfortunately, the text reduces poorly. At default resolution on an iPhone X, I can’t read it. Even with reading glasses. I think that’s somewhat due to the red being difficult to focus on. I could probably read it if it was white.

When I’m zoomed out far enough I can’t read it, I prefer the bottom. As I zoom in, and the text becomes readable, I prefer the higher contrast between the text and the background of the top one.

An old favorite. Created for someone who didn't rehost his sig.

^I remember that infamous person.

Subego, your iphone x has retina 3x, which means we have to change our image standards quite a bit! but I will fiddle with the outlines some.

Also in search of better screenshots. I updated version 2. Haven't found a better screenshot of version 1 but I did up the resolution.
