I just picked up a cheap ipod on craigslist that has a dead hard drive. I'm looking to get a replacement, I'm wondering what are some good sources? It's a 5th Gen iPod, destined for the center console of my car. Originally I was looking at those ZIF to CF adapters, and then just putting a 16 GB CF card in there, making it an SSD ipod. But then I figured why waste the money, it doesn't really matter if it's SSD, I might as well just get a cheap 30 Gig HDD. But where can you get deals? I looked on ebay but these days everything on ebay is paypal-only. And I'll NEVER use paypal again. I've learned that 1G to 4G ipods use a more standard IDE connector on their drives, but the 5Gs use a more proprietary connector.

New iPod HD
I think they'll announce it at WWDC 2010.

I think you should keep the title as is. That's why I clicked on this thread. :^)

It's cheaper to buy another iPod than a new HDD for one. Even only 30GB.
