Ah, the moment that so many of us MacNNers strive for, and many do not reach. The legendary millennial of post counts. Truly there is nothing so magical as the moment when such a landmark is reached; when the stars turn green, and your life finally has meaning.

Many of us have reached this magic number. For me, it took almost two years of grueling labor, sharing the depths of my Mac knowledge with fellow MacNNers. Always bringing from the depths of my charity the pure nuggets of true companionship. And it was worth it. No one can take away the friends I have made, and the community that embraced me as a member.

Thank you, MacNN.

Phillip, I have to come to this point of meaning, and I am experiencing the same joy and fulfillment that you have so far described. It is truly incredible, the feeling of achieving what I have been working towards for over a year, to finally succeed. But I know that it is not over yet. We must strive together, as a community, to continue with good spirits and charity for all. Four score months and twenty days ago, I was a newbie, as we all once were. But today, we must nurture these young citizens of MacNN to help them achieve the same goals we are now celebrating.

And so it comes together. The meshing of the old generation and the new: the reputable and the reputationless. Yet, it is important to remember that whether we are new, or old, hated, or loved, we are all MacNNers at heart, and this we must never forget. MacNN today. MacNN tomorrow. MacNN forever!

To Patcarla, and Phill, congratulations.

The theme community has progressed incredibly since many of us have joined, only a year or two ago. And the results are incredible. Today, we have the greats: Max Rudberg, Kevin Husted. We have the notorious: Bill Bart. We have the retired: Carbon. And we have the rising stars: Patcarla, COTL.

I am the newcomer that Patcarla so poignantly describes in his post. Yet I am more than that. I am the future of MacNN: the next generation. I am the leaves that spring from a fertile ground, and the community is the gardener who helps me grow. A toast, to MacNN, and the future it holds!

Truly MacNN has changed all of our lives. I hope that in the future, the greats of today will be remembered by younger generations. A history is of primary importance to a community, and MacNN is one that deserves such remembrance. To Patcarla and Phill, I congratulate you on your momentous events, and to everyone else, I urge you to strive for the thousand posts, but remember. MacNN is a community, and your posts will be thoughtful, and caring. Without such valiance and chivalry, a community cannot succeed as MacNN has done so far.

I have over 11,000 posts at MacMinute, and another 9,600+ posts at MacCentral... I have not time for MacNN, other than keeping up with all the great themers in this forum. So I'll probably never reach the big "Green-Star-Status" that you have! But congrats nonetheless!

Let's see... 19 posts in about five years, that's slightly less than four posts a year, so at this rate I'll get the green stars... *launches Calculator* ...sometime in the year 2260.

Watch out Phill, I'm right behind you.

It's not too often we're lucky enough to spot the hardcore lurkers.

Also, a +1 thread in GUI Cust.? I guess I'm not usually around these parts, but I thought this kinda stuff was reserved for the lounge.

Duuuude it was just an elaborate joke Patcarla and I wanted to have fun and celebrate hehe. Which is in its own way just as pathetic, but nevertheless, we aren't THAT sappy.

What can I say. I appreciate a forum like MacNN. But i'm not saying it has made my life better or anything like that. Just some excellent themers and iconists hang out here. And let me see their upcoming stuff. I try to help out where I can with the experiences I have had with OSX. Or something like that. I even tried to post something recently which didn't fall in the taste of the people here at MacNN. I do not always know what they expect. Anything too different seems to be a no-no. even if I was only a picture of unfinished work.

I do not strive for the 1000th mark. I usually only post if something i think is worth replying to. Kinda like this.

Anyways, congratulations to those of you who have reached the apparent magical 1000th mark.

May you all live long and prosper! With alot of posts( or something like that)

http://www.macthemes.net/mt/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=28

and congrats on the post count.

Oh man, that was embarassing . All fixed up for that article. We installed a spam filter plugin recently, hopefully that'll help slow this down.

No worries, I won't mention a thing in the lounge. This forum feels friendly and innocent (so far).

We lurkers are everywhere. We watch everything and forget nothing, but we do certainly appreciate the MacNN community.

If my calculations are right, I've got another 40 years to go, which is realistic I guess.

Boy you sure don't read these threads much do you?? If you skip over the image size fights, what a theme should look like, If the 'O' theme will see the light of day, What icons to use with what theme, and of course the ever popular typo spats.. this place can be real friendly..

But then again all we do is sit at work and make our 'puter's look purdy..

Lounge action to this reply: personal attack.

You're right, I'm never in this forum. I tinkered with themes until it borked my install of X and kept shoving me to the CLI. I just happened to click "view new posts" and it brought me here.
