OK, so I just had a Grey Screen of Death on my PowerBook and it made me extremely sad. At the same time, I don't know why I got it.
Specs:
1.67GHZ 15"
1.5GB RAM
Two LaCie External FW and USB
Running Programs:
iTunes
Safari
Azureus

I had a picture from the program MacOSaiX that I wanted to put as a background on the house PC so I put my Sony flash drive in, copied the picture, ejected the drive then pulled it out. Right when it pulled out I got the GSOD. Anyone have a reason? I'm just sad that it happened. No data was lost but the only time I have ever gotten a GSOD before this was when I only had 512 MB of RAM and I attributed it to that while having tons of programs open. Thanks.

Your panic.log file indicates that a USB device might be the culprit, most probably the flash drive you mentioned. Perhaps some bad interference with the external LaCie drives?

What you incurred is a Kernel Panic. when the OSX detects an error that it cannot recover from, for instance a device driver over-writes some protected memory address. While very rare with OSX, they do happen when its related to hardware, either memory or more likely in your case the USB device. In fact USB devices seem to be the major cause of these (even though they are rare).

you probably took it out when it was doing something with it.

I have gotten a KP after removing a flash drive, even though I properly unmounted (ejected) it. It may unfortunately be rather common.
