My sleep mode indicator light stopped working on me a while ago. It's not a big deal to not have it,but is there some thing that I could do to get it back? I can solder and take things apart.

Since it's probably out of warranty, look up the guides on ifixit.com and see if you can test the connections to the LED.

if i were you id consider it a blessing and keep it with the burnt out led...

god knows i used to wake up atleast once a month because of that damn sleep light.

there are sleep lights you can buy cheap off ifixit.com, and (if its the same as the ibook) it isnt very hard to take it apart to install it.
