You all should be using Quicksilver instead of the dock anyway!

Fixed. I hide my dock and use F10 but when you have to call the dock up, it's nice to have it transparent.

I noticed in the new Transparent Dock for 10.4.1 that the feature allowing you to alter the speed of the bounce is not present, when it had been in previous iterations. Is that feature permanently eliminated from Transparent Dock? Can the speed of the bounce be altered some other way?

I believe you need to be a registered user to get that option to appear.

Yes, you are right. Registration "unlocked" that feature.

You might be using a shapeshifter theme that themes the triangles. I am somewhat blindly assuming you are using ss though.

FYI: The v10.4.2 update will make TransparentDock inoperable again...I'm sure an update will be out rather quick.

i use TD, but...while i wait for an update...
cleardock (&ape)...free.
(what i like in TD is the options, ie locking icons in the dock, no notification bouncing, etc)
waiting sucks
but cleardock is fine for now..

wow what a pain using TD sounds. clear dock has worked since like 10.3 without an update for me. i just updated it recently because i thought maybe the old one had a bug or something. I've never had a problem with it and have never had to pay for it it only changes three pdf files in a folder) so why pay for something that is so easily modded and should never need updating? Just to have it break with each update to the OS makes me stear clear from this app, every other app I use doesnt have this kind of problem.

trans dock has a lot of options, ways of using the dock. it's a system-level app, and is affected by the updates.
also...ape. some people don't like it (altho not me:shapeshifter, mightymouse, fruitmenu, ETC)
still...cleardock is simple, works everytime.
whatever works...!

I don't use transparent dock to make my dock clear.. I use it to change the bg to white with white border and grey arrows..

...or maybe not! The site hasn't even been updated to reflect a new version is coming or in the works.

I prefer TD to ClearDock anyday, but I do wish that the Author of TD would give us an option to choose our own colour for the triangle that lays below the dock icons, I know there is a list of colours but I personally would prefer to be able to pick for myself as the supplied options rarely match the colours used in the themes im running. This is the only feature of ClearDock that I prefer over Transparent Dock. Hopefully in the next update this will be available.

Someone mentioned that they had a border around their dock when using cleardock. I would think that you would have a border if you enabled the shadow with Tinkertool and then used cleardock.

You don't.
If you have the "colorize dock background" checkbox UNCHECKED in cleardock, it just makes the dock background completely transparent. Even with the dock shadow enabled via TinkerTool or Cocktail or whatever, you still can't see it. There is no shadow, and certainly no border.
With cleardock's "background colorization" checked, and the colors set to completely transparent via that, it may be a different matter.

It´s been a week since 10.4.2 was released. Anybody has an idea of when TD will be updated?
My dock looks awful now.

With that option enabled in TransparentDock, I think you still need to quit the Finder before you can drag it off the dock.

Noonster, Thank You! Right on the money with Clear Dock. I've been looking for a replacement to Transparent Dock and this does the trick beautifully, no boarder, nothin but clear icons.
