wow, I guess it shows how little interest we have in the series that we don't even talk about it anymore.

I am as well. This season is going much better than the last one so far. Still, I liken this show to a summer blockbuster that I'll enjoy, but not something as interesting and mysterious as Lost or Battlestar Galactica where I have to talk about it and figure out what's happening.

OK, the first episode of the new series (still S3 or is it S4 now?) was shown here in the UK lastnight, so not sure how far behind that makes me, probably a few weeks?

Peter is gaining power by touching people now, rather than absorbing by being close to them as I thought it was before. Sylar taking on the SWAT team types was great . Trying to get my head around who is alive/dead and good/evil, but so far so good for me! I like Hiro & Ando doing the comedy thing, it balances things out overall with all the rest of it.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

And it appears he can only have one power at a time now?

The problem with this series is that, true to comic book form, nobody can really die. There is 1001 ways to bring any character back to life. Knowing this it is very difficult to write this series without making the viewer feel like he/she is being strung along. Can the viewer actually KNOW that Sylar is dead if he were to be killed off? What can the viewer consider to be absolute truth? Even the non-special ability humans can be restored by the cheerleader's blood, right?

Yeah, you're right to a large extent about no characters dying, besson. They didn't even bother to explain what happened to Sylar at the end of the previous chapter, when the good guys could have finished him off. They're never going to kill him off, unless Quinto bolts from the show in favor of future ST prequels. But they couldn't even kill off Ms. Speedy Gonzales.

It's not the epic show it could have been. If Kring had stuck to his principles it could have been legendary, but the money train prevailed. At least he had the courage to nerf Peter substantially so that he's no longer a "William Sue." It's a decent show, though, and it's still entertaining to me, so I continue to watch.

I'm hanging with it primarily because I enjoy some of the characters. But with this new season, the show seems to have veered-off into the stock fascist-paranoia that so much pop-superhero pulp that we've seen over and over in other shows, books, etc. It's certainly dramatic, but I can't help but sit there and think I've seen it already.

You did see it before. It was called X-Men or Watchmen.

Now Parkman drew D.C. exploding. Instead of NY. How original!

One thing I liked about episode 1, whether it was intentional or not... when you first see Sylar, off looking for his real family, he walks into the room and the old music used in Fallout 3 is playing .

I don't want to set the world on fire
I just want to start a flame in your heart

i can just imagine Bryan Fuller walking into the Heroes writer's room after finishing up Pushing Daisies:

Bryan: Hey guys, how's it going?
Writers: Um, pretty ok.
Bryan: No, it's not.
Writers: (uncomfortable fidgeting)
Bryan: You guys remember Season One?
Writers: Yeah! It was great! Those were some good stories Bryan. We all enjoyed them.
Bryan: Right. You enjoyed them so much you used them as a template for every season since then.
Writers: But...
Bryan: Shut up. I don't want to hear it. Are you going to blow up Mt.Rushmore next season for christ's sake?!
Writer: Hey, that's an id...
Bryan: NO! (throws stapler at writer) We are going to do new ideas, new concepts, new characters, and new storylines.
Writer: Bryan, that sounds like hard work.
Bryan: (pauses) On second thought, get me a laptop and a hand grenade.

Honestly, NBC should just buy Pushing Daisies, put it in the Heroes timeslot, and call it a day.

Pushing Daises wasn't the greatest show ever, but it was pretty gosh darn good, and they knew how to keep the story moving.

Seriously, I hope they make Fuller the showrunner. That man is creative, which is an element that's really lacking among Heroes writers.

Heroes used to be great. I watched it religiously. But then 24 came back on and I'm finding that more entertaining.

Sure, every season is Jack Bauer running around screaming "where's the bomb?!" while holding a gun but at least that's what you expect.

He wasn't shown. The supposition is that he is rebel. He's the only one capable of hacking networks like that.

It turns out I was actually misinformed. I'd read that it was 3x19 "Shades of Gray" that was going to be Fuller's return, but this episode was written by Oliver Grigsby, who had never worked on the TV show before. It looks like next week's episode is actually the one where Fuller is coming back. This was a good episode, though.

Also, Micah isn't the only person on the show with the power to control computers. There's also Hana, who had a small role in season 1 (she was Ted and Matt's partner) and a recurring role in the comics. My money's still on Micah, though.

Many of you were right. Micah is rebel. He also seems to have grown up some, which was refreshing.

They also didn't kill Danko. I remember in the previous ep that Sylar was standing behind Danko when he got home. But this ep opened with Danko alone except for Puppetmaster tied to the wall. I'll accept that if Bryan Fuller needs to right the ship.

Watched 'Exposed' here on the BBC lastnight so still a few weeks behind you lot. I had Rebel down as either Micah or that woman who was connected to the internet in the first series, but that one was a long shot (didn't she die in the graphic novel or something?).

Now we know where Sylar got his braining finger pointing power from (thats been bugging me to find out). It was weird hearing The Chain and not having F1 cars involved though.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Actually, this last episode was freakin' sweet. Real plot development, strong characterization, powerful moments, a cool superpower fight — that's what Heroes should be like.

I don't get why nobody is looking to try and team up with Rebel. He's obviously an even match for the bad guys all by his lonesome. With a psychic, flying man, power thief and invincible girl on his side, he could have the country back to normal in a matter of days.

So I just saw the last 2 episodes lastnight, "I Am Sylar" and "An Invisible Thread", the end of Volume 4 and intro to Volume 5. So Peter's power has definitely changed to picking up powers by touching people, and the 3rd Ali Larter triplet will be in V5. Best line of the shows, and possibly the series, was Sylar getting up from Danko's knife in the head, pulling it out and saying "That hurt!", we laughed .

I liked the series as a whole, but it definitely got better for the last part of the series. Hopefully the next series will be a whole series for a Volume like 1 and 2, now that there's no writers strikes to get in the way and split up series into halfs. Yes it was a big reset button, but it leaves a few good bits to lead into the next Volume.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Ah ok. Possibly, thinking about it (Ice > Water). I saw the 'wink' from Tracy's big finish earlier in the series as 'I'm dead but my sis is still to come', not 'I'm not dead', but whatever...

That's how I took it too, but the similarity is uncanny — Tracy turns into ice and melts, and then a person made of water starts killing Tracy's enemies? Tracy and Niki's abilities were very different, so I wouldn't expect Ali 3.0 to have a water-based power like Tracy.
