I host a web site on .mac. I have a registeresd domain name which I use to point to my .mac site. Recently, Safari stops pointing to the my .mac site using my registered domain name: http://eastcoastyachtclub.net I have used this domain for a about a year with no issues. When I called the domain registra, they recommended I reset Safari which I did. After resetting Safari I closed it and reopened It. I typed the domain name and the page opened. The problem has now recurred. I have reset Safari and trashed the safari/.plist to no avail. The page, using pointer Domain, loads normally in Firefox. This issue in Safari has mainfested itself on both my Power Mac and my Powerbook. The domain registra has reported the page loading normally in other browsers. Can anyone help? See Apple/Discussions/Applicattions/Safari/Domain Forwarding/Go Daddy
Well having visted other discussions on this topic I found if I have Forefox and Safari both open and I type my forwarding domain into Firefox the page loads normally and if I move directly to Safari and type in the forwarding domain, the page loads normally. Safari forgets the "fix" over time and the process must be repeated.

No one else here can comment on the domain issue in Safari? Is it not curious this issue
cropped up without any software updates applied, it being specific to Safari, it not being attributed to any single domain vendor and all on the same day, 11/24/05?

I think this is your problem:
Code:
comp:~ user$ curl -I http://eastcoastyachtclub.net/
HTTP/1.1 302 Moved Temporarily
Content-Length: 0
Location: /?ABCDEFGH
comp:~ user$

No I don't think so, too many others with the same problem. Latest
security update 009 fixed the problem though

Look at the location that it provides. That's not a location. The server is spewing out garbage. I would find another registrar.

I opened Firefox, opened my home page without a problem. Next went to my open Safari and opened my home page without a problem. How is Firefox talking with Safari? Or how does Firefox
prepare the server to receive instructions from Safari? This is the code from the open page in Safari:

What you're seeing is your registrar occasionally properly forwarding your request. I just tried your link and got zilch. I agree that you should either change registrars or get them to fix the issue. It is THEM, not Safari or Firefox, and certainly not your computer.

Does your host support php or any other redirect method?
I'll give you free hosting to point your domain.
Change your DNS servers to:
ns1.nfanaticdns.com
ns2.nfanaticdns.com
Then you can redirect from my server if you want, free. My host has been up 100% of the 524 days.
