Let's see if I can decipher the message:
I have no experience with the 3G phone as I have the original 8GB, but I still have a case on mine (incase rubber shell), mainly to keep the back clean. I do have a clear protector on the screen as well.

Re the subject, I've been using my iPhone 3G for over a week and it has not incurred any scratches. The cloth supplied is also quite good at dealing with fingerprints although the meaningful removal of such is ... not really meaningful on the device. I'm interested in eventually getting some kind of case, I just wish they didn't tend to be ugly.

No, "yaw" was meant to be "you".
Get the invisible shield, or some other brand (like bodyguardz).

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I had a question:
I put an InvisibleShield on my iPhone (as mentioned above), but I noticed there is a speck of dust under it. It doesn't bother me because it's not on the screen, but I was wondering if it would hurt anything (having a piece of dust smashed so tightly against the screen)? I really don't want to have to take the shield off, so hopefully it wont hurt anything.
Thanks!

Great! I feel dumb worrying about something so small, but the phone was just so expensive.

The screens are pretty sturdy but a little protection never hurts. Get a good screen protector and it'll last.
