Any help welcome, please! I need to access an ancient Compact Pro archive I created years ago. Unfortunately to save all of about 20k I did not save it as a self-extracting archive (.sea) but instead as a .cpt file of 186k. I cannot install Compact Pro under Classic on my G4 PowerBook as I get an error message [A file error (-43) occurred while accessing "Compact Pro Package 1.52#2A6C76]. I believe old (Classic) versions of StuffitExpander would open .cpt files, but again I cannot install StuffItSTD703Classic.sit whilst running Classic. The OS X version of Stuffit cannot expand .cpt files. I don't have any Macs left running OS9 natively... The Compact Pro website is not much help (understandably). Thanks for any help!

Not sure what the etiquette is for answerring one's own post... I control-clicked on the file, selected Stuffit Expander, and it opened immediately! Problem solved!

your answer wasn't a mere bump, so in terms of etiquette is ok
you can (and should) read the forum rules.
Nice to know that you solved your problem.
