Just an fyi, if any other 360 gamers are trying to pick up this game, Circuit City has been selling it early. Just go to their website and select in store pickup - I've been playing all day and it's awesome.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

Nope, Microsoft won't give anyone their wireless spec.

I wonder if they could be busted for anticompetitive practices for doing that?

My real guitar has a cord too, it's not a deal breaker for me. And the 360 version is MUCH better than the PS2...

Any ideas on the price of downloadable songs?
That's pretty much what is going to make me either keep my ps2 version or sell it and get the 360 one.

From what I read they're going to try and keep them in line with other digital song downloads, or ~$1/song. I had the idea that they'd sell them in packs for $5 or so.

We wont know for sure until they announce something specific or the first songs go up (should be very soon).

I wasn't impressed by the bonus song list, let's see if XBL can make me jealous.

Also, did someone actually point out that the 360 version had better graphics?

I guess because of iTunes and the 99c per track, my mind has been okay with spending $1 on downloadable songs. If they come out at that price and there are a good batch of songs I'll sell off my PS2 versions. Guitar Hero 1 and 2 and 2 wireless guitars.

Isn't this game basically DDR for your hands? Hit the colored buttons in rhythmic time to what's on screen? Isn't that...boring?

I've never really seen this game in person before but I've looked at the "set list" from both releases and I think the music selections would actually deter any enjoyment I may get out of the game.

A little on the expensive side (I would've preferred 400 points for the packs), but I'll still be buying 2 of the 3.

With news of Guitar Hero 3 coming out in the Fall, I think I'm going to hold off on Guitar Hero 2 since we have 1 and 2 on the PS2 already. Hopefully the developers manage to talk Microsoft into letting them create wireless guitars by then.

So there are no 3rd party wireless controllers for the 360 whatsoever? What the hell Microsoft?!

I love ctrl-alt-delete, they are always on point. It is really too bad they didn't allow them to make wireless guitars. With the HD graphics, downloadable songs and DD5.1 it really makes for an enjoyable experience.

dude, seriously, read a review or two. better still, play it for yourself. if you don't have fun, you're either dead or boring or something strange.

as for the wires, no biggie for me either, my real guitar has wires and it still kicks ass, so who cares?!

Well, I actually went out and bought it never had played it before because everyone was so ga-ga over it..

I will say first that yes, I am close to death, probably pretty boring to most and definitely strange. I don't like it. Might also be because I only knew about three songs on there, might be because the clacking from the guitar is super annoying, might also be because I had to do a furniture move because of the wired controller. Dunno, but I want my $90 back.

Wow, that's incredibly lame. All of those songs are from Guitar Hero I. I was excited for new songs, but they just give you repeats. But I suppose since the song list in 1 was a lot better than 2 it would make sense to bring those songs back.

That's what I was thinking.

It makes sense, since they didn't make GH for 360 some kind of super bundle.

I'm assuming these are just the precursors to real new songs.

(Not that I care)
