Felt like a Simpsons quote was needed here:

Mr. Burns: Well Smithers, another Friday night is upon us, what will you be doing? Something gay no doubt?
Smithers: Wha...? I...
Mr. Burns: You know, mothers lock up your daughters, Smithers is on the town!
Smithers: Oh, he, he, he, exactly sir.
"Devil ether, it makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor skills. Blurred vision. No balance. Numb Tongue. The mind recoills in horror. Unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interresting, because you can watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can't control it"

surprise, rampant, people aren't always what they seem.

realize, looking at this thread, that likely most of the straight portion didn't bother to vote, hence the skewed stats.

Open minded homosexual. I think guys are cute, but I think it's possible for me to become attracted to a woman. Guys seem like much less work though.

I think current research says that everyone is bi; it's a sliding scale (levels of testosterone) that determines whether you enjoy similar or differing persons. Just to be pedantic.

you forgot transgender. but it's a bit late for me to add it into the poll.

the groups around here are GLBT - Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender. just try to remember the acronym next time you're pondering this question.

Here are the "popular" identities:
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, Transsexual, Queer, and that other one....what do you call it?...oh yeah...Straight.

There are more..but you know...too many to list. Why do we care about identities anyway?

Probably because the mind likes to categorise things and likes to put things and people into little groups so it appears they have the person figured out

The creator of "Six Feet Under" is gay, in case you couldn't tell by the extreme content in the show. A great show by the way, and I'm not gay.

Explanation for what? What is the question that is being asked that needs a "Everyone is bisexual" answer?

There is none

Not everyone is bi-sexual, or gay, or what have you.

That is just sillyness.

Why are THOSE groups lumped together? Seems kind of shallow to characterize someone on the basis of those attributes.

they're sexuality/gender identification based. i'm sure it started out as just "gay/lesbian" and then they added bisexual and later transgender (as that become more accepted in society). this is in reference to a college campus group, btw.

He's not saying that everyone is gay, just suggesting that it's not cut and dry black and white. If you'd care to debate, please do, but "I've got a bridge to sell you" aka accusing him of outright falsehoods, is not debating.

And why would it be silly for everyone to have some differing degree of attraction for the same or opposite sex, varying from extreme to extreme? That seems to be a very reasonable idea to me, based on my personal experiences, and the experiences of people around me.

I am not going to debate sillyness. There is no proof to that, Just false assumptions.

Not from my experiences. So obviously he was wrong.

And of course now I will get the silly attacks that I am just in denial, or my stance in it must really mean I am gay!.

It's sillyness to try to make homosexual behavior to look more "normal" in they eyes of people who dn't see it in such a way.

it's FUD.
