You can find it at addressbook.mac.com, although it looks like it might need a new version of Address Book to work properly.

It has nothing to do with Address Book, and everything to do with iSync.

I keep getting sync timeouts. It's probably just not ready yet, although it may be because I have a lot of Japanese people in my address book (?)

I was having timeout issues with the new Address book online and unregistered my computer with .Mac and then re-registered it and it synced no problem.

Just downloaded iSync (first time I've had a reason to), registered my computer, and it synced up very nicely.

Well, for me it get stucked in "Please wait while your .Mac Address Book is being synchronized."

What is supposed to do after that? Magically appear filled? Does it need a sync when that message appear? It seems a little confusing for me to get it working, since I follow the guidelines and get nothing but an endless wait.

It times out on me as well.
And I would say it has nothing to do with which computer or with Address Book, since it probably just synces with the info on its own server? At least I do not see any lights on my modem when doing the sync, which I do when iSync is running.

Finally it worked! It is just matter of keep trying.

They must be really busy, because of the zillion of users of .Mac

I'm not having any problems syncing but the online version of my address book is a little messed up. People cell phones sometimes are put under home phone. also, the fax numbers I have entered don't show up in the fax field online. Oh, and what improvement are there to the webmail program. Apple says that there are improvements but it looks and acts the exact same.

Keep on trying??? How many hours you want me to keep on trying this?

They should have made .Mac a US$1000,- per year so there were only a couple of subscribers...

...and I suggest make Address Book a iAddress so they can charge for it as well in order to keep the amount of users minimal...

Just use Apples Backup software. There is an option for IE bookmarks in there. I don't imagine it would be too hard to create a custom action to backup other browsers bookmarks.

Well, mine syncs just fine; however, when I go to addressbook.mac.com, none of my stuff is there. If I go to the "Preferenecs" I do not get the option to "Turn on iSync.. bla bla bla", just the sillyt thing telling me that it is "Coming soon".

In Chimera you can export your bookmarks as a html-file. Just put that in your Document folder on your iDisk would be enough.

Well, I unregistered, registered, and then sync'd. My .mac AB did not pick up my contacts. Oh well, maybe after the toggle in the .mac AB prefs is available.

I downloaded iSync and I successfully synced to mac.com according to iSync. However, when i go to my address book in .mac, no addresses appear.

iSync even told me how many files are being transfered over

Help?

From what I can surmise, you CAN'T yet sync your desktop address book with your online address book. True, you can sync your address book with .Mac, but, just like it was two weeks ago, that doesn't mean your online address book is sharing that information. It is clear, however, that that functionality is coming soon. I think Jobs mentioned it was coming and, more telling, if you go to the 'Preferences' section of the online Address Book interface, you'll see a little paragraph describing the syncing process...then, after the paragraph, it says: "COMING SOON!". Presumably, we'll see some option to turn on syncing here once they've got it ready...
