Hi guys i got something weird that happen to my Ti 1Ghz PB today and its still happening. The battery indicator on the laptop says battery is charged when its only at 97% and also the round plug that is plug in into my PB used to be amber/orange in colour when its charging or not fully charged. And its also saying calculating until full ? Now it stays green. Any advise ?

Same thing happens on my 12" Powerbook! I think it has to do with calibration of the battery... but I don't really know. Sufficeth to say, the problem is not limited to your TiBook.

If your PowerBook is above a 95% charge when you plug it in, it will not charge the battery any further. This is to help prevent excessive recharges which will eventually wear the battery out prematurely. The plug will also be green in this case.

If you really, really, want it to be 100%, let your PB drop to 94% charge then plug it in. It will charge all the way up to 100%.

If you're having battery problems, Apple suggests discharging the battery completely until the computer goes to sleep to preserve power, then plug it back in and charge. This calibrates the battery so it accurately displays the amount of time left and so on.

If it does not show 100%:

Unplug the adapter. Run down the battery for a few minutes/percent.

Plug it back in.

It should charge back to 100% indication and the amber light should turn green.

If it doesn't, a restart should fix this issue.

This technique worked on my old Titanium and iBook both.

Hope this helps!
