I recently got a brand new Sharper Image Ionic Breeze GP Professional for 150 bucks... it retails for 499.99... I thought I would share how I did it...

Sharper Image auctions off refurbished Ionic Breezes on EBAY. These are all the older model units (before the professional), but they come with the standard full 5 year warranty.

Anyway, it's simple...

1. buy a refurbished ionic breeze GP (must be a GP for this to work*) off of the Sharper Image ebay store... I paid 150 bucks with "buy it now"... go for the less than new quality as long as it has a warrantee
2. after it arrives wait a couple days and then take it into a sharper image store.
3. Exchange the Ionic Breeze GP... say it makes a noise, whatever... they will go grab a brand new, Ionic Breeze GP Professional from the back and hand it right to you..
4. VIOLA... you just got a 500 dollar, brand new ionic breeze for 150 bucks.

* The reason you need to get a GP is that they still sell all the other older models... the GP is their high end model and has been completely replaced by the new professional series GP.

Honestly I was very hesitant about the ionic breeze's effectiveness before buying it... but I figured for 150 bucks I would give it a shot (plus you have 30 days to return it for a refund)... Overall I have been impressed. I need to clean the grid every few days, but I live in NYC so the air is not exactly crisp.

I think the bottom line is that it is not as effective as a HEPA filer, but it is much cheaper to run and it is effective.

Hope this helps

Fry's Electronics has no legal authority to check your receipt or bag. You could just steal one for free.

Well, I should. Seeing how I'm getting tons of spam about it these days. They all look like such good deals.

Yep.

There was a whole thread on this a couple of days ago.
I am too lazy to find it though...

Never mind that in actual tests, the Ionic Breeze was found to be one of the least-effective air filters out there. Hardly worth $150, much less $500.
