Looks like Human evolution needs to be re-written to incorporate these furry little buggers. Amazing, wonder what other little people might have existed and given rise to folklore around the world.

DENIED!!!, lol, I was going to say that it was punitive action against the US because Dubya's official website is now blocked to those outside the US. You're in Germany though, damn.

Is it ok to paste articles in here?

Or even better, hobbits riding herophants.

You know what the fun thing about the Bible is. It doesn't try and say all kinds of things that it's audience would be incapable of understanding. It's a well written work with it's own agendas. Ridiculing it because other people try and make it say things it doesn't is unwise.

Agreed. The Bible is extremely contextual. Unfortunatly, not many of it's believers, or critics, realize this.

How do we know it's not just someone with dwarfism?

Unwise? why? will I get hit by lightning now by vengeful God? Oh no!

The funny part about my comment is not matter how much scientific data they show to prove that dinosaurs are millions of years old and the earth is billions of years old the thumpers take the word over a crusty old 2000 year old book over scientific proof. They claim the carbon data is wrong and yadda yadda.
They totally ignore that data and blindly go back to the bible as it promises them a wonderful afterlife which dinosaurs can't offer.

You might try having a clue SWG. The Bible is a collection of books, (thus the name, the books/Bible) some books in it can be dated to less than 2000 years old (by about 70 years) while others can be dated significantly earlier. While some fragments have their sources from fairly close to the exodus (the song of the sea for example.)

There are many schools of thought in Christianity. Some terribly liberal, some conservative, some well thought out, some scholarly, some idiotic. Painting every follower of God with one brush is ignorant and bigoted.

And what do you call the big bang? Scientists preach that "theory" in every text book in the world, yet there remains to be any sort of proof. You just happen to put 'faith' in science, though I don't understand your contempt and resentment of those who choose to disagree with you. Are they hurting you some how by believing in a God?

In addition to the individual called 'Hobbit', six other specimens were found at the site. The data is really fascinating. I am especially interested in the idea that Homo floresiensis could be the basis for several 'little people' myths from the island. Doubtless there will be people out 'hobbit hunting' for the Discovery channel in no time.

Cheers!

If you read the articles you'll find that they've ruled out both of these options. The skeleton can't be a child's because wear patterns on the bones are those of a creature who is older. The skeleton is not a dwarf, pygmy or midget because the head is not large in proportion to the body. The head is only the size of a grapefruit in the Flores skeleton.

On of the most intriguing things is the speculation that these people may have survived as recently as a few hundred years ago. In the 1500s the islanders apparently told Dutch explorers about a little people who lived in the forest and spoke in a language of murmurs. The islanders would leave bowls of food out for them. They may have only been legend then or may possibly have still been living.
