Whenever I use my iPod to store files, it never recognizes that I have deleted them. For example, I put a 1 GB file on my iPod. When I remove the 1 GB file, it does not show up in the iPod directory, but the iPod's storage does not subtract the 1 GB. So even though I cannot see the file, it seems like the iPod acts like it is still there. Is this a bug? Though only way I have gotten around this is by doing a fresh software install. By the way, I have a 3rd gen 10 GB running version 2.2

Not sure if it matters, but did you make sure to empty the trash after deleting it?
