Is there a way to put just the display to sleep at-will using a keyboard command?
I like how on the iBooks and PowerBooks you can turn the brightness down all the way until the screen turns off but I can't find anything like that for my iMac.
I've tried a blank screensaver (and using screen hotspots) but the screen is still "on."
Any way to get it turned off?

my guess is since "the display is the computer" this might be impossible. But im probably wrong, since ive yet to try this on an iMac of my own. Do you want to put it to sleep to use an external display instead??

No just because when I want to go to sleep or do some else productive on my desk I like to turn my display off immediately instead of wait for energy saver to kick in and turn it off (currently have it set to 20 minutes).
I like to keep my computer on though because I might be downloading something or to stay in contact on ichat.
