Has anyone screwed with ResEdit on their TiPB? I was thinking about putting in new start up screens. But its kind of a scary process cause I dont want to screw up my computer. Has anyone had any probs after they put these changes in?

www.resexcellence.com basically, with startup screens, only edit the image in the PICT resource part of System and you'll be fine, just don't touch anything else.
(Tooki, maybe this should be moved to a more appropriate part of the forums?)

Its easy... just work on a copy and keep the original around.
Paste in the pict and you're right.
Otherwise, you can place a StartupScreen image in the System Folder for the same effect, sans the progress bar and the "Welcome to MacOS", "Debugger Installed" et al screens...

As I recall, you can even put a .mov file and call it "Startup Movie". Or am I on drugs?

You're not on drugs AFIK, but a startup movie is fairly useless. First of all it halts your boot process while playing, and second of all: It gets old.
Fast.
Like in two startups...
