I just got a new 48x12x48 external cd burner. It works in OS X fine, but at work where I use it we have to run OS 9.2.2 because of certain pieces of software we need. Problem is the computer doesn't seem to recognize the burner. I have the Firewire enabler and support extensions version 2.8.5. When I put a cd in it'll just pop up a warning (even if it's an audio cd or anything) that says "This disk is unreadable by the computer, would you like to initialize" Also, Toast does not recognize a burner as being connected. I thought this might be a driver issue, but I believe I have the latest firewire drivers, please help.

Perhaps you need an update to Toast. The latest version is 5.1.4.

try turning off the Firewire Authoring Support extension. It's for iTunes, and will conflict with Toast.
