Can't Extract Audio File from Digital Still Camera Video File

I have a Sony DSC-P72 digital still camera that will record videos and save them in .MPG format. I was at a rock concert the other night and got some pretty decent recordings of a couple songs with it, but so far I've been unable to extract and save an audio-only file from those .MPGs. I have Quicktime Pro, iMovie, Sound Studio, and SoundConverter, but I still can't get anything to work. For some reason, when I Export it as a DV file using Quicktime, then drag that over to iMovie, there is no sound when I click play in iMovie. Can y'all help me? Thanks so much!
