So, I was having a bit of a spring clean. Found a PC mag from 1996...

Found a music mag from 1995 too.
No URLs anywhere. Anywhere. Very odd to see.

Even as a techie person, I'm a bit put off by the term "Pipeline bust cache", that doesn't really sound like something I want.
What, me worry?

Burst* cache. And I imagine it has something to do with the Turbo button.

We're doing a computer nostalgia thread? I'll pull out some Macworlds from the 1990s. . .

I remember spending hours reading the latest Computer Shopper while waiting to log-on to the local BBS to play Trade Wars. I'd sit and bookmark pages of the massive volume with Post-its, comparing prices and looking at reviews and benchmarks. Those were great days.

You know, computers may do a hell of a lot more now, but they were actually more fun back then.

Anyone remember the Magneto-Optical Drive. I remember how cool they seemed for their storage capacity, but I never saw one outside of magazines.

We had one at a former employer. Worked really well, but really expensive.

I didn't realize Computer Shopper is still around in some form:

...and a hell of a lot more expensive!

I remember when my sister bought her PM 7200/120 with a huuuuge 2.1 GB HDD. With 17" monitor, Canon Bubblejet printer, and UMAX scanner the package ran well over 5 grand.

We then upgraded the RAM to, hold on to your seats, 96MB over the years.

The 7200 was such a POS.
