i'm looking to buy a used PowerMac 500 G4 but know little of what options i have in terms of flat panel displays - the apple ones look very expensive. can i use a generic or PC LCD on this machine (are there connector, size, graphic card considerations?).

i've always had a powerbook (still running my pismo) so i'm kinda clueless when it comes to desktop models - any help would be appreciated.

sorry about the multiple posts - for some reason i ended up with two blank posts and i keeping getting denied the ability to delete.

Cornea makes a line of displays that offer superb value in my opinion. Check out their products and maybe you will see something you like.

Yes, you can use every single LCD out there with analog or digital input.

Take a look at the Analog Samsung LCD monitors. Very reasonably priced and outstanding quallity. Places like CompUSA carry them so you can look before you buy.

I got an excellent deal on a 19" KDS Rad 9 display this weekend at Compusa.

It has dvi and analog inputs and a nice swivel base too all for $650 with a 2 yr compusa warranty thrown in.

Any PC compatible lcd panel will work with your mac, so check PCWorld online for their top 10 lcd panel ratings (updated monthly) and cnet for reviews including those of owners.

This isn't a Power Mac specific question. Off to Peripherals it goes. Please post in the correct forum in the future.

LCDs are much better on my eyes, and are just plain cool looking!
