Right,

I possibly did the most stupid thing ever. I tripped over my dog and brough my expensive Apple LCD down with me, and guess what, im selling it tommorrow. Right now, stop the laughing. As soon as I fell I noticed a dint in the upper left hand side. And one pixel that was red. I turned it off and put it back on, to my suprised the red pixel that was noticable was gone. All that was left was a dint, not VERY noticable, but still, there. There are a few scratches on the side but I don't care about those, those can be cleaned up, its the screen im worried about. To all owners of Apple LCDs, tap their screen lightly and would you tell me (on the default blue Jaguar desktop) if the colour goes lighter for a mili-second. I cannot remember that before.

Thanks

If anyone can help
I would MUCH MUCH appreciate it
Oliver

If you touch any LCD screen the picture will mess up under your finger.

If you tap it, yes. Liquid crystal dispays do that. it also "ripples" for a little distance around the tap.

I recently tripped over a phone line and launched my iBook across the room. Bye-bye.

For my display, the whole screen doesn't change. Just where you tapped.

Boots: A little off topic, but I'm curious... What compound is that in your sig, it looks a little like LSD, but I am unfamiliar with it?

yep.

[tangent]Did you know that replacing the ethyl amide with a slightly different amide changes this into a clinically useful labor inducing drug...another simple change makes it an analgesic...yet another makes it a potent anti-Parkinsons drug?

This class of compounds has the widest biological spectrum of activity compared with any other class of naturally occuring compounds.
[/tangent]

And I'm really embarassed about tripping over the phone cord. A stupid accident and I killed a good little laptop. May he rest in peace.

I feel your pain. A while back my 22 inch monitor fell forward and stopped on hitting the sharper edge of my Logitech Trackman FX mouse. I damn near cried 'cause I bought it when it was first introduced, then costing an arm, a leg and several more body parts... Where the screen was hit now has a permanent whitish glow in the shape of the object it hit, sorta like a bruise. I live with it because you can only see it if the LCD screen displays darker colors such as the OSX blue desktop. Fortunately it's not noticeable when a white background windows are over it, or when working with most images in PhotoShop etc.

I feel for you. (I was so tired of tiptoeing around the LCD I use with my PC that I bought an eMac rather than do it with my Mac too.)

Woud that anti-parkinsons drug be Coenzyme Q10? It looks similar in structure.

No, pergolide. CoQ10 doesn't have any nitrogens, among other differences.

As long as we're already OT and talking about synthesis, here's what I'm trying to make:

Hmm. I remember reading about the synthesis of Spiruchostatin A. That's a deacetylase inhibitor right? Any success in your research??
