Bought a rev A iMac from a girl on campus who didn't want hers anymore for a clean $100... it was a steal and it even has 180 megs of RAM stead of the usual 32 (but the original 4 gb HD arrgh!)

Her copy of System 8.6 was all corrupted so I erased the hard drive then realized

SH1T!! I only have an OS 9 install disk! They wont install until ive updated the firmware! Which I have to update from an OS booted off the hard drive.

FsCK!!

Now I have to scour campus looking for an OS 8.5 install disk just so I can install it, update the firmware, THEN wipe it an install OS 9. Consarnit!

S*cks, doesn't it?
Why don't you ask the girl, maybe she still has the original OS-CDs

I asked myself the other day, which would I rather watch? Pr0n or Porn? Then I realized that the thread had gotten off topic.

JNG I have a imac 333mhz (standard config inside I believe) with an idock My old boss (A COMPLETE BASTARD-His children will have horns ) was going to throw it away because no one could get it to load up( just had a blinking ?) . Anyway I took it home and just reformatted and installed OS 9.2 on it. Works fine. Anyway I hardly ever use it as I have a 17"imac. If your interested thow out a number.

The folks at Computer User Services (reed's net gods) sorted me out with 8.6 but even that turns out to be too new. Looks like it's 8.1 time. Jesus.

Hey doyal, I sent you an email (not sure if it goes to your home email or is left for you as a message) but if you didn't get it email me at [email protected]
The short of it is, I work at a school and we are always looking for good iMacs!!!
Thanks
