My guess is that Snappier falls under performance.

iMovie 3, now with less ass!

Quick impression? Playback is better, as is switching between clips in the tray. Still slower than iMovie 2 by a wide margin. Still has the ridiculous fake-brushed metal window. It crashed twice on me in about two minutes, though.

iMovie 2 with all it's Carbon yumminess is still the champ, if you ask me.

That all depends on what you're filming.

MOVE TO THE SOFTWARE FORUM
Dude, relax and get a life. Why are these forums crawling with uptight forum cops (who aren't admins)?

It really isn't a big deal.

Yeah, like nobody mentions anything about software in this thread. Some people need to chill.

I got that error since installing iMovie 3 in the first place. But after you say its ok it does not seem to handicap iMovie in any way. I would just like to know what causes it. (Btw: I do have Toast.app on my system)

I tried to follow the directions on that page but I do not have "Toast Video CD Export.bundle" in my "Plug-ins" directory and still get that error message.

can you use more than 20-30 clips now? I guess I'll find out tomorrow, going to feel stupid in front of my friends if it doesn't. I preach this platform.

I await your findings.

35 clips on 3.0.1 is unusable.

Too bad, because iDVD (2 at least) is excellent. With a properly functioning iMovie 3 the combo would be awesome.

So you haven't tried it yourself? Can't you just open one of your old projects that always crashed?

Today I made a skateboarding video for some kids in the neighborhood that are trying to get local businesses in town to sponsor them.

I captured about 80 clips to the bin. Then I trimmed down the 80 clips to the 20 or so good ones, and cleaned those up, putting each into the timeline.

iMovie crashed once when I stopped captureing one of the times, but thats it. Responsiveness is a little slow, but bearable. I prefer it to iMovie 2 now.

I hadn't had any stability issues before, but hadn't tried much. This project is a little bigger, but not huge.

Hope that gave someone somewhere some hope.

I suppose, but that's not quite the same thing as testing a new project.

I need to edit a new project for work, but I'll probably only have about 10 clips there so that likely won't be a problem.

Hope that gave someone somewhere some hope.
Yes it does, thanks.
