I have a few machiens that are aiport Extreme capable but that are not the Core 2 Duo machines: a 12" G4 PowerBook, a G4 Mac Mini, etc. My questions are:

Will I be able to buy a new Airport Extreme card and put it into these machiens and get 802.11n or does the n require a core 2 Duo processor?

Welcome to the MacNN Forums!

And you ask good questions. 802.11n does NOT require super processing power-it's a matter of the hardware on the wireless card, not the computer it's in. As for the first part of your question, "I don't know" is the best I can give you right now. I have a Core Duo (not C2D) MacBook Pro and I am starting to get interested in this question too. Keep your eyes on the tech reports in the press, and stay tuned here for more updates.

And again, Welcome!

I don't think you will be able to, since your Macs don't have the right antenna built in. You could always get a USB dongle or an ethernet adapter.
