Could it be that no one has created a Mad Men thread yet?

So, in since there isn't a Mad Men thread yet, I suppose I should introduce the show. It's a show about ad executives in the early early 1960's, and the various cultural subtleties of that time.

So first Jon Hamm (Don Draper) in Mad Men was on SNL on Saturday. Hilarious. One of the first SNL's in a while that didn't become unfunny in the last half hour.

Tonight was also the season two finale, which was shocking on it's own....

C'mon, tell me I'm not the only person here who watches this show...

I watch it, love the show. I do get a bit tired of the 60s lingo and norms though...

When is the 3rd season starting? I can't find info anywhere.

Mad Men is the only show I watch regularly on tv. It's by far the best show I've seen in years.

Thanks for posting that SNL video! I miss such things because SNL's been a big yawn for the past few years.

BUT! I absolutely adore MadMen and have been trying to get my friends into it for the longest time. Although some aspects of the story line have me confused and fussing about - I can't complain - because Don Draper can tie me up and tell me to stop talking anytime. And yeah...the writing is okay too. blahblahblah. just watch it people.

I truly want to see it. I'm in the advertising field and know a lot about how the agencies have run historically. So, it really interests me. Just haven't caught up on the past episodes yet. I suppose I will follow Atheist's lead...

I've watched it religiously since day-1. I've been in advertising/marketing for ages and that's what first hooked me. Draper's presentation on the Kodak account in the first episode almost made me cry. It reminded me just how fun and creative advertising used to be, before it became soulless marketing.

This season has been somewhat odd, but not in a bad way. There just seemed to be slight Twin-Peaks-ish overtones to things. It's definitely gone a bit darker this season.

The last two episodes, though, really propelled the story for me. I can't wait for the next season...whenever that will be.

It is really nice and fresh… cause all the american tv-shows we got here in Spain are the same damn silly thing over and over. The "Kodak introduces Carousel" presentation was memorable.

Are you on the 3rd season already? I have watched first season and that is all we got.

I love Mad Men. One of the few shows we watch (also Dexter, Heroes, True Blood, and I occassionally grin and bear it through Grey's Anatomy or *shudder* Private Practice for the wife). Great SNL show as well, though Hamm did a fantastic job.

love the show. Felt it could have used a few more eps this season to hash out Joan's story, but love the complexity of characters.

Well guys. I watched the first three episodes last night. Can't say I love it but it's got potential. I'll be watching the rest of the first season over the next week.

My one pet peeve is the smoking. Yeah I get it.... people smoked a lot in the 60's. But half the show is close-ups of cigarettes. Hopefully they'll back off a bit on that.

Glad to hear! I was worried the show was going to languish.

It's a great show and sometimes I find myself thinking about it or a character in it.

One especially nice touch has been the casting of Robert Morse as the venerated senior partner of the ad firm. For those who don't know, in the early 1960's Robert Morse earned a Tony Award playing the bright, brash young junior corporate executive on his way up in the Pulitzer winning Broadway play, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."

For those who want to watch Season Two it has started again and the next episode is March 16th late at night. Check the schedule.
