an employee of mine may get one of the new imacs later this week. or she may get one of the disconrinued ones. i would be interested in any feedback anyone has on either the new or discontinued ones. thanx.

If you get one of the discontinued models, make certain there's a warranty.

This current generation isn't all that different than the last generation... just minor updates... (faster processor, faster memory)... Just a matter of whether you feel the extra $$$ is worth getting the latest and greatest.

It depends on which iMac she is looking at. If she is looking at the entry level 2.4GHZ 20" iMac, she is better off getting the refub one for $1099. MacWorld did some benchmark tests on it, and the 2.4GHZ 20" iMac from the last generation beats the current entry-level once since it has a better video card.
