Turn to your major news station (i.e. MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, etc.) for more information.

Edwards & Obama offices (close by) have also been evacuated.

Hilary isn't there but they are saying she cancelled a bunch of things and secret service is with her.

Well, his life is over.

I mean, really...who wakes up and says "you know what? I'm gonna throw my life away this morning"?

I hope the whole thing is resolved peacefully but that guy's life is completely over now.

You know it's a weird election year when candidates' offices start getting held up by terrorists.

What the heck does this guy think he's going to accomplish?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

People with bombs strapped to their body are only terrorists if they are Muslim.
That should totally derail this thread.

You are right though about this being a weird election season. It is 11 months before the next election and the major candidates have been on the campaign trail for what 4-6 months, now? And if you read the article linked to in the OP you'll see that this office where the hostage situation is occurring is one of *15* Clinton campaign offices in the state of NH alone. I know it is an important state early in the election process but does she really need 15 different offices in a state the size of New Hampshire?

There was a recent New York Times article on the rigors of life on the campaign trail, in which candidates have to eat copious amounts of whatever pile of grease happens to be the local specialty. I surmise that candidates probably set up so many campaign offices around the state so that a safe place is always nearby in case they get a case of the vomits.

Guy walks into a place with a bomb strapped to his chest, starts taking hostages... he's pretty much a terrorist.

When I first heard about this, I thought it was a Clinton PR prank.

Doesn't even make sense. I guess in that way it would derail a thread..

Not entirely true, but, 99.9998763982 % of all morons who strap bombs to their bodies (and even to their babies) are Muslims.

So... no one wants to mention the fact that it was road flares, not an actual bomb?

Hey I saw Friday the 13th part 4 and Jason killed some guy with a road flare through the mouth. They can be dangerous.

I don't get it.

When you see people who do this. Is it some twisted cry for help. Are they so deluded to think their fake bomb will allow them to accomplish what they're trying to do (not that I condone using a real one).

Hopefully he gets the meds he seems to need, I wonder if he'll see jail time, or just be confined to a hospital.

The drive by media is already using this to tout Mrs Clinton's "calm under fire" and "he did it because he has no insurance"

Hmm. I don't have any insurance and I'm not taking hostages because of it. Also, like Hillary, I wasn't there when it happened. Guess I'm calm under fire too.

If he's confined to a hospital, his criminal act of hostage taking will have really payed-off for him.
