Shipping times for the iMac have been upgraded to "within 24 hours" at Apple's US and Canadian
online stores. This includes 27-inch models, which have often been slower to arrive than their 21.5-inch counterparts. Late last week, delays for both models improved from weeks to between 1 and 3 business days.
Times remain longer outside North America, ranging from 3 to 7 days to between 1 and 2 weeks, depending on the country. Problems with iMac supply are believed to be linked to the 2012 version's display, which sports an unusual design that makes it harder to manufacture en masse. In January, Apple CEO Tim Cook warned that iMac supplies could be limited for some time.
