I was pondering, what is it about bumper stickers that makes them so annoying?

I think it's the unwanted opinions that one is inevitably made to read at a glance.

I enjoy humorous bumper stickers. Like "Forget a knight in shining armor, I want a vampire in a shiny Volvo" on an old Subaru (referencing Twilight). But I don't like opinionated ones.

My least favorite bumper sticker is the one around this area that says "This car climbed Mt. Washington."

So instead of enjoying the majestic beauty of the East Coast's highest peak on foot you drove your car on a road and bought a bumper sticker. I think you may have missed the point of getting to the top of mountains.

Its used to me that the road was bad enough and most cars didn't have the HP, tires etc to make it up the mountain. Now you can do it in a Vespa.

Mt. Washington isn't even that high. Pikes Peak and Mt. Evans are way higher (Evans all the way up to 17k feet). My Accord V6 was quite breathless.

These are fine, it's the peace and love ones which really make me want to haul out with a lead pipe.

I always thought that it was a magnetic mountain and that sticker meant that the car "climbed" the road while on neutral, being pulled by the magnetic field... if that's not the case that sticker is worthless..

Anything referencing Twilight without being savagely derogatory is worthless to society.

I think multiple stickers in a rear window is like the precursor to flash pop-ups. Or using Windows.

Funny stickers are fun. Some opinionated stickers are good too, such as the "Coexist" bumper stickers you can see in certain areas. ANY political sticker is problematic for me, since they "stick around" after the political issue/contest they are about, and almost always make the car owner look like (more of) a moron; there are STILL "McCain/Palin" stickers rolling around in my neck of the woods. Heck, there are (copyright infringing) "W" stickers still on the road here!

My favorites: "Hang Up And Drive!" and "Keep Honking - I'm Reloading".

One category of bumper/back window decorations I dislike a lot are the "Joey #18 Local PeeWee Sports" (or band, or cheerleading or whatever...). No problem being proud of your kid/kids, but telling everyone what your child's name is, what his/her important interests are AND the name of their team/gym/etc. is like saying, "Mr. Child Abductor, please take my child." It is seriously a Very Bad idea.

I've always liked the Coexist bumper sticker as well.

I've seen many stickers referencing local teams and clubs, but never one with a first name or uniform number. That really is as dumb (and dangerous) as you say it is.

I also remember the day when even fewer cars sported Apple stickers in their windows. That always made me feel like I had an instant connection to the other driver.

How about a secretly police-sponsored web app called iSnort where you enter the number of people who want to do lines, and it gives you some neatly spaced rectangles to arrange them on?

In the meantime, it accesses your location services and tells the police there are X people taking coke at XXXXX's house.

Nice. I had to do a google search to see what they looked like. There is a gamers version as well.
