Well, so far 18 of 24 are ecstatic about their G5s. I voted with the majority. I'm a little perplexed about the number of RAM issues, but RAM is RAM. I changed mine and have been happy ever since.

Hello, Everyone

I received my DP G5 w/2.0GB and Radeon ATI 9800 Pro 10/24/03 on the day of the Panther release. This baby has been running 24/7 with absolutely zero problems or defects. IM amazed how quite this machine is under heavy load. This is by far the best Mac I have ever owned.

I upgraded from a QS 2002 DP 1Ghz 1.5GB Geforce 4 Titanium 4600. My previous personal machines were, B/W G3 400, Wallstreet Power Book G3, Power Mac 7600/120 etc.

I also have a DP G4 450 for a server and a 12 Inch Power Book G4 867 for work.

Thanks

Far more stable than a $100,000 Sun/HP Solaris workstation I use at work...

Dual 2.0GHz G5, 1.5GB RAM, 160GB HD, SuperDrive, Radeon 9600 Pro, 120GB FireWire 400 drive, Adaptec 4-port USB 2.0 PCI card, 22" Cinema Display, 17" Studio Display, Logitech Elite keyboard, Logitech MX-700 mouse, Epson stylus 880 printer, iSight, MacOS X 10.3.1.

So far, not a single KP or Finder crash.

My first 'problem' cropped up last night but a quick permissions repair and I was back in business.

Love this machine.

I have the "won't start from cold boot" problem.

The only way to get our dual G5 at work to boot is to boot into single user mode and type reboot.

Anyone else? Apple says try reseating the video card.

Wait... were we talking about the G5 or the Performa 6400?

G5 dualie crankin' 10.3 (of course... it was free!), stone stock except for a 250gb hd. No upgraded memory (yet), base video card, no bluetooth, no airport... no KP. Not one. Been bulletproof.

Ashamed to admit it, the most demanding thing it does is iMovie, so it hasn't really been put through its paces...

But, c'mon! I went from a Blue Dalmation G3 iMac to the Lord of the Digital Underworld! I'm lovin' it!
