I am having trouble formating a disk in the ISO 9660 format on a new Powerbook with a VST superdrive. The format options only show MacOS and ProDOS. I have also had this problem on another mac runing OS 9 with an external floppy. Has apple taken this out of their system software?? if so, how can I format a DOS disk???

I don't think ISO 9660 format has ever been an option in formatting disks on the Macintosh. Those two are the only options I've ever seen when I format disks. Then again, I've never used a SuperDisk drive, so...

Are you using Apple's general expansion bay drivers, or have you installed the manufacturer's drivers (if there are any)?

I can't say the same will work for your particular drive unless it's the expansion bay model for the PowerBook, but...

When I first installed my VST SuperDisk Drive for the PowerBook with the original drivers (shipped in the package), I couldn't format a DOS disk unless it was already a DOS disk. The driver upgrade from VST's web site fixed that problem.

*Big However*: I only know this is true for standard 1.44MB floppies. I've never actually used a SuperDisk (not even the free one that came with it).
