G5 osx problem! :( :(

Hello everyone, I'm really new to this forum, but I usually browse it for Mac queries.
I have a problem with my iMac G5 today, and was wondering if anyone knew what the problem means. 
I switched the Mac on, like any other day, but the interface seems to be really messed up 
It works pefrectly... but these weird lines surround everything..

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!  I love and look after my Mac and I hope this isn't anything serious!!

Hate to be the confirmer of bad news, but that's definitely a problem with the GPU that can't be fixed. It will have to be replaced, which means new motherboard or machine. Sorry. 
And moonmonkey has a good suggestion - a mac mini probably would be cheaper than the repair job on that machine.
