That's pretty awesome he got both...even better he gave the 1st back to Bonds...

Bonds' next record to break is the All-Time Walks record currently held by a player I like to call Rickey Henderson...

Yeah, but Rickey's is still more remarkable as he was a lead-off hitter and has well over 3,000+ hits as well...

I don't think it's that impressive. Willie Mays didn't use steroids.

And neither has Rickey...

Bonds' career has definitely been tarnished...I believe all his records should have a nice asterisk to the right of them...

And McGwire's?

Innocent until proven guilty, I say. We do know that McGwire used illegal supplements, but that didn't seem to tarnish his reputation much.

Frankly, I'd really rather not know whether or not Bonds used steroids. Baseball needs a real drug policy, but this retroactive enforcement crap won't do anyone any good.

LOL
Oracle's Larry Ellison was born in 1944, so the 53-year old in the article probably isn't him. That was nice of him to give the ball to Barry though.

I don't know about that. As mentioned, innocent until proven guilty. But you could say that for any of the people atop the record books in baseball:

Hank Aaron 755*
Babe Ruth 714**
Barry Bonds 661***
Willie Mays 660****

*Feasted on expansion pitching
**Never played against major leaguers of color
***Suspected of using steroids
****Didn't have to face Randy Johnson

List courtesy of ESPN the Magazine.

Whoa...stop...ahem...Rickey? No astericks needed.

* All-Time SB King
* All-Time Walk King
* All-Time Runs Leader (the single most important stat in baseball)
* All-Time Leader in Leadoff Homeruns (nearly doubling second place: Bobby Bonds)
* (3,000+ Hit Club)
